Trek to Base Camp, Quiz Night
The Dusty Yak 'Trek to Base Camp' Quiz Night was hosted in the UK by Lou Hurley, on Friday 18th November. Nepalese Curry was served and prizes were generously donated for the raffle.
Charity Lunch in Tokyo
Marianne Black (née Hurley) organised a Dusty Yak fundraising lunch in Tokyo, Japan. The fundraising lunch was supported by Himalayan Curry Restaurant.
Donation Box at City Centre
City Centre Kathmandu, during the month of WINTER FEST, kept a donation box for the Dusty Yak Foundation. Around 20,000 people visited the event.
Christmas Carol Singing
The Hurley and Martin families spent Christmas Eve in Cranleigh carol singing in support of the Foundation.
Charity Supper
Tom and Steph Newell, Friends of the Dusty Yak Foundation, hosted a charity evening in the UK on 14th January. 30 guests attended and enjoyed a traditional Nepalese curry and gifts were donated for a raffle. Eland Publishing, who specialize in travel books, donated several prizes, including a book called ‘The Living Goddess’ by author Isabella Tree, which explores the life of a Nepalese child chosen from the Buddhist caste of goldsmiths whose role is to watch over the country and protect its people.
